On 5 December 2018, the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union officially introduced IATE 2 (InterActive Terminology for Europe) at an event in the European Convention Centre, Luxembourg. In 2012, the Oxford English Dictionary named “omnishambles” its word of the year. It is a combination of the prefix “omni” meaning “all” and “shambles”, “a state of total disorder”. Accordingly, the OED defines the term as “A situation that has been comprehensively mismanaged, characterized by a string of blunders and miscalculations.”
“Brocialism” and “brocialist” are pejorative terms used to men who have a certain set of political views. The word itself is a portmanteau of “bro”, a term often used to refer to men who behave in a casually sexist and juvenile manner, and “socialist”.
